Gripping

When you see a skater on the streets, you see a troubled youth.

We wanted to help the skatepark association communicate to city officials that skaters are unique individuals with talents and dreams. So we asked local skaters to create a work of art on skateboard “grip” tape. We pasted a flyer on the back of each piece of art and sent them to local businesses and community leaders.

Tax Deductible

There’s nothing a little duct tape can’t cure.

We helped the Crossville Skatepark Association develop an online presence by designing a common entrance for their existing websites. The online petition form was a big hit and gave them the ammunition they needed  to get city  approval for a larger skate park. Note: These sites were developed before web standards.

Fun-Raiser

You can’t build a skate park out of thin air.

Slate and SkateSo, we developed a fundraising campaign for a local non-profit skate park association and an elementary school. The kids sold a ton of upscale scented candles and were able to raise several thousand dollars for both education and the skate park. And we were able to develop some fun posters in the process.

Kick Flip

Kicked around. Kicked off. And tired of it all.

After seeing skaters in our hometown chased off public property by local police, we decided to form a non-profit group to educate, inspire and encourage youth. And we’re helping the city build a skatepark in the process. You can find out more online at: CrossvilleSkatepark.com.

Baah Baah Baah

They were poor little lambs who had lost their way. Baah. Baah.

Blacksheep Sports AdHopefully we helped them find it. Avoiding the typical grunge skate cliché, we struck a happy medium with the Blacksheep Skate and Surf company brand. Somewhat rebellious yet mildly traditional, we wanted the brand to speak to extreme sports enthusiasts with a little tongue–in–cheek. (Note: the grass background is not part of the ad.)

Relief Work

After Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, we wanted to lend a hand.

These logos are inspired by the vision that New Orleans needs renewing spiritually and culturally—new life and hope in addition to new infrastructure. We raised $500 for displaced designers through t-shirt sales. Get one online at: CafePress.com/b-l-a-n-k.com
